On HorseMarket.ae, you have the option to list various equestrian goods or services for sale or lease. You can select from different categories such as horses, tack, equestrian apparel, equine wellness, livery options, and many others.
Each category allows you to provide detailed, specific information about your product or service for sale. This feature makes it easier for buyers to find what they’re looking for and to filter results according to their needs.
HorseMarket.ae also enables filtering by location, allowing buyers to explore horses or equestrian goods available in the UAE, KSA, Egypt, and other countries in the Middle East. This is why it’s crucial for sellers to provide accurate information about the location of the horse or item for sale or lease. Accurate location details help buyers make informed decisions and consider any transportation costs associated with their purchase.

The most important aspect to consider when selling a horse or offering a lease is creating an accurate description of the horse. This will not only help you achieve a successful sale in a short period but also minimize the number of potential buyers contacting you just to request additional information. Here’s everything you need to know to create a detailed description of your horse for sale or lease.
In this first section, you will be asked to provide information that is common to every listing on the platform, regardless of the category in which they are listed.
Title: This is the most important piece of information in your listing. The title is visible on every listing view and on the listing detail page. It is what makes your product/service stand out from others. Ensure your listing title is straightforward, indicating the “subject” of the listing, for example, “Arabian horse,” and includes some unique features as well, such as “young and healthy.” The title will be accompanied by other information in every view, such as the price, location, and some other essential specific information based on the category.
Listing Tags: You can add any tags to your listing that might help buyers expedite their search. For example, if you are selling an endurance horse, you could include tags such as “Endurance” and “Endurance Qualified.” You have maximum flexibility in adding these tags. It’s recommended to maintain a reasonable number of tags (between 3 and 5) and to ensure they are strictly relevant to the listing. Avoid adding tags solely to increase visibility, as this could result in your listing not being approved by the administrator, in order to maintain a positive search experience for buyers.
Categories: You are allowed to select up to two categories for a free listing. Categories serve as the primary distinction among different types of listings, making them the most crucial choice to ensure your listing is viewed by the appropriate audience. Whether you’re selling, leasing a horse, or simply searching for one, you can choose from the following categories:
Horses (main category)
Breed of the horse (sub-category).
For instance, if you’re selling an Arabian horse, you would select: Horses > Arabian.
After making your selection, the fields at the bottom of the page will update to display some category-specific information.
Status: The status represents the final action you aim to achieve with your listing. Are you looking to sell something, offer something for rent or lease, or are you searching for a good/service to purchase? You can choose from different options:
For sale
For rent or lease
Wanted
In the “Additional information” section is where you will add all the specific information about your horse for sale or lease. Let’s analyse them one by one.
Price: Set the price for your horse, whether it’s for sale or lease. Begin by selecting the currency symbol, such as AED if you are pricing in Dirhams. Enter the amount in the chosen currency, and then choose from the available pricing options. You can set a fixed price, indicate that the price is negotiable, or if you prefer not to disclose the price upfront, leave the previous fields blank and select “On Call” to inform users that pricing information will be provided upon direct contact.
Seller Type: Specify whether you are selling the horse as an individual or on behalf of a business.
Breed: Indicate the breed of your horse. Choosing a specific breed is vital for attracting the right buyers.
Year Born: Provide the birth year of the horse you are selling.
Gender: Select the gender of the horse you are offering for sale. Options include mare, gelding, stallion, filly, and colt.
Coat Color: Mentioning the coat color of the horse for sale can help buyers who are searching for a specific color.
Height: Measure your horse’s height from the ground to the highest point of the withers, and include both the measurement and the unit of measure.
Passport information: A crucial detail for any horse for sale or lease is the passport information. For some equestrians, this could be a deciding factor, especially for those competing at high levels. If you are unsure whether your horse has a passport, you can select “Not sure.” By choosing “Yes,” you will be expected to provide the original copy of the horse’s passport to the new owner, so ensure you have the physical passport available.
Link to pedigree: You may also include a link to your horse’s online pedigree, allowing buyers to independently evaluate and verify your horse’s lineage. Enter the URL and the text you wish to display for the link to your horse’s pedigree.
Horse origin: Indicate where the horse was born. Use the dropdown menu to select whether the horse was born in the UAE, the Middle East, or another part of the world.
Main disciplines: Specify if the horse is trained or competes in any particular discipline. You can select multiple disciplines that the horse has been trained in and provide further details in the description later.
Contact Information: You are welcome to provide any contact details you are comfortable sharing on the public listing page. If you have concerns about how HorseMarket.ae or its users might use this information, please refer to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Payment Options: Choose one or more methods that you will accept for the buyer to complete the purchase of your horse, product, or service for sale or lease on HorseMarket.ae. Please be aware that you will manage the payment transaction directly with the buyer, and HorseMarket.ae assumes no responsibility for these transactions.
Finalizing the sale of your horse
When a buyer decides to proceed, ensure all agreements are put in writing, including the terms of the sale and any warranties or guarantees you’re providing. Use a standard equine bill of sale or consult a legal professional to draft a contract that protects both parties. Be clear about the payment process and ensure all financial transactions are documented.
Description of the horse for sale: Provide a comprehensive description of the horse you are selling. The more detailed, the better. Include information about the horse’s health status, training regimen, and competition achievements. Buyers are also interested in the horse’s temperament, feeding routine, and daily schedule. If you are the current owner, consider sharing unique insights about your horse that you particularly appreciate. Be transparent in your description, acknowledging both the positive and negative aspects of the horse’s behavior, if any are noteworthy. Include any special care needs your horse may have to prevent misunderstandings and help find a match that’s beneficial for both your horse and the buyer.
Description Summary: Additionally, you may write a concise version of your horse’s description, focusing only on the most critical points. This summary could also be formatted as a list of bullet points for clarity.
Photos and videos of your horse: In this final section, you can upload up to 12 photos and 2 videos of your horse listed for sale or lease. Opt for media with smaller file sizes to avoid slowing down the page loading speed. Since many buyers will be browsing on mobile devices, it’s important to ensure that the content is mobile-friendly and not too large to load efficiently.
At this point, your horse for sale listing should be ready for submission. All listings undergo manual approval by the HorseMarket team before being published. If you have any concerns or questions, you can reach out to support@horsemarket.ae. Please be aware that listings may take up to 24 hours to be published. Log in to your personal dashboard again to monitor the status of your listings.
